A&S Workshops-South-2017

Greetings to the Shire!

There is going to be an A&S Workshop at Lady Laurena’s house on Sunday, in Magnolia, starting around 3:30 p.m. and going until the last person leaves. The address is on the Calendar.

This coming Sunday is at Lady Laurena’s. As the Sunday in two weeks time is going to be the day after the Saturday shire meeting and newcomer gathering and wiki work day, and then the Sunday is the Newark Halloween Parade, there will not be one then.

Both Lady Laurena and Lady Aoife have agreed to alternately host every other Sunday A&S Workshops. That means the first Sunday A&S Workshop at Lady Aoife’s will be Sunday, November 12, followed by Sunday, November 26, at Lady Laurena’s again.

Shire Meeting and Newcomer Social Saturday, 10/28

Baron Adolphus Benner has graciously opened his house to the populace of the Shire of Caer Adamant, and friends, for a social gathering geared towards the new and curious people who want to know all the things about the SCA. We will start the day with the Business Meeting at noon, then a potluck BBQ and lawn games, weather permitting. (Nasty weather will force us to all snuggle on the couch.)

This is open to all members of the Shire, their guests and anyone who is curious about us.

Please bring a dish or treat to share, a lawn chair and any crafty or lawn games you wish.

Garb is not necessary, unless you want to fight or fence, then you must be dressed appropriately for those activities. Any fighting/fencing will be informal and at the whim of those present, so it may or may not happen. Same with any craft or game activities.

Please bring a dish or treat to share, a lawn chair and any crafty or lawn games you wish. There are two cats in the house, who will most likely hide. The house has a small stair at the front door, but is all on one level, so if you have mobility issues, we will get you inside easily.

Questions? Email Baron Adolphus at seneschal@caer-adamant.eastkingdom.org

Heraldic Primer, 12:00 noon on Sunday, July 23

Are you thinking of finally registering a device? Maybe at Pennsic? Do you already have a device or badge, but want to know the best way to display & use it? Are you a fighter who might proudly march to war for the honor of the mighty East Kingdom? Well this might just be for you!

Your friendly neighborhood heralds will be presenting a Heraldic Primer at 12:00 PM on Sunday, July 23rd. We’ll let you know the basics of heraldry, help with possible submissions for Pennsic, discuss ways to display and use your heraldry, and do some heraldry recognition for possible opponents our fighters might see at war.

Come learn to identify a unit from An Tir from a unit from Calontir. Separate Meridies from Ealdomere. Tell a Tuchuk from a Trimaran.
