Caer Adamant Fighter Practice Cohort Sheet

IF YOU DO NOT SIGN UP, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO FIGHT.

Per Society guidelines, practices may have a MAXIMUM of 25 attendees. We are permitted a STABLE cohort of 15 fighters. This “might” leave room for a very small group of folks to spectate, but that is not the purpose of practices and fighters will be given preference.

Everyone attending will be expected to:
-Wear a mask
-Maintain social distancing
-Sign the Contact Tracing sheet

Greetings!  Honorable Lord Mikael Melrakki McCue is going to begin holding thrown weapons practice on certain Sunday mornings starting Sept. 22!

Thrown weapons practices are open to anyone ages 5 and up.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  Instruction may be given.

SCHEDULE
Honorable Lord Mikael will be hosting these from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on the Sundays the Barony of Buckland Cross is not holding practice:

• September 22, 29
• October 6, 20
• November 3, 17
• After will depend on weather and attendance.

WHERE
The home of Honorable Lord Mikael, 320 North Avenue, Secane PA 19018.  (However, depending on the app being used, the address may be shown in Upper Darby, Clifton Heights, Morton or Springfield.  Also, traveling down North Avenue from Baltimore Pike, the house numbers suddenly drop from the 1000s to the 300s.)  There is plenty of free, on-site parking behind the house, just follow the driveway around.

FOOTWEAR
Although not required, closed toe shoes are strongly recommended.

LOANER EQUIPMENT
Plenty of loaner equipment will be available.  Note:  If you borrow axes with wooden handles and stick an axe in the target, do not throw any more weapons until the stuck axe has been removed.  If you do and irreparably damage a handle, you will be asked to pay for a new handle.  (There is no charge for a broken handle on a throw at an empty target.  If that happens it’s usually the handles fault.)  Because hitting one axe with another is an avoidable situation that is when you will be asked to provide compensation.  Of course, what you do with your own equipment is your decision.

WHEN
Sunday, June 16, 2019 from 12:00-noon to 4:00 pm (Shire meeting will take place just BEFORE this fighter practice, beginning at 11:00 am).

WHERE
Glasgow Regional Park, 2275 Pulaski Hwy, Pavilion #3, Newark, DE 19702.  The site, a public park, is dry.  Restrooms, located in the pavilion, will be open.

SHIRE MEETING & FIGHTER PRACTICE
We like to cram a whole bunch of fun into our days!

–Shire for a fun-filled Father’s Day Fighter Practice!  We’ll bring the burgers and hot dogs, you bring yourself and something to share!

Fighters and families welcome!  Help Daddio Mini-Mags get the most out of his Special Day with his unruly “kids”.  Food will be ready approximately around noon.  

–The monthly Shire Business Meeting takes place at 11 am, fighting happens whenever people remember to put their armor on.

ARMOR MAKING & REPAIR
Our normal weekly fighter practice is getting a “tricked-out” upgrade! We’ll be convening at our most-noble Knight Marshal’s sweet chateau to cut pickle barrel, bang rivets, offer advice, consultation, and maybe some good-natured teasing for the area’s fighters as we build and improve our armor. Unsure what to do with a piece? We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We can make it better, stronger, faster!

Don’t need to repair or build anything? Come out anyway! Practice WILL be held in a nearby field. We might knock a few rivets loose for you while we’re at it!

BRING
Bring canopies or day shades for the park. There are no trees or shade in this new neighborhood development at this point. It’ll be a good primer for fighting at Pennsic!

Greetings! Shire Archery Marshal, Baroness Mari Clock van Hoorne, is going to begin holding archery practice on Sunday mornings and is planning the 1st Archery Practice of the year for Sunday, April 28th!

Mari is not above holding practice on Mother’s Day (May 12) if folks want to come out that day to shoot.  Other dates to be determined based on her availability and she always posts it early enough to give people time to schedule.  At the moment, she thinks the only Sundays that are going to be unavailable are the Shire meeting days depending on the Shire meeting start time and location.

We had a successful archery practice last week, and we’ve got one scheduled for this upcoming Sunday. I have a few others scheduled for some random Sundays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will be held at Iron Hill Science Center, 1115 Robert L. Melson Lane, Newark, DE 19702. Presently we have the following dates scheduled:

I have a tentative hold on Sunday, October 7, but that will be decided later as I may be gone at an event far way that weekend.

I’m so sorry to report that archery and thrown weapons practice is no longer going to be held at Padrig’s residence. We will be looking for a new site, and all assistance would be appreciated. We truly appreciate the time and space, and big thanks goes out to Padraig for the many many years of service.
