Can you help with the DEMO at the Dover Comic Con on Saturday, June 18th?
This public event is a great opportunity to talk with people about the SCA and encourage them to join in the fun! The Shire will have a booth where, with your help, we hope to be able to: demo Fighting and Fencing, host a Dance lesson, and have Arts & Sciences displays and demonstrations.
So, we’re looking for volunteers:
–Fighters, Fencers and Dancers
–Helpers for Set Up (7:00-9:30 AM)
–Helpers for Breakdown (after 4:00 PM)
–A&S Demonstrations (can be rotated throughout the day)
–Greeters & people in garb with stories about the SCA to share
Saturday, June 18th (open to the public from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm)
We have been assigned Booth #70, which is near the food trucks in a shady corner of Legislative Mall, Dover, DE (at the corner of Federal Street and MLK Jr. Blvd adjacent to the food trucks).
WHAT TO BRING
Demo Autocrat Lord Malcolm plans to bring a few pop-ups to provide shade and we’ll have a pop-up, table and two chairs for the A&S demos. Everyone should plan to bring their own seating, small tables for displaying weapons and armor, drinks, snacks and whatever else might be needed to be comfortable. The event is free to attend and there’s plenty of free parking.
We hope YOU will participate! Please message or email me to say you’ll be there!
In Service, Lady Nancy Alyn, Demo Deputy Autocrat
