This public event is a great opportunity to talk with people about the SCA and encourage them to join in the fun! The Shire will have a presence where, with your help, we hope to be able to recruit new members by demoing Fighting and showcasing Arts & Sciences with displays and demonstrations.

WHAT TO BRING Demo Autocrat Lord Malcolm plans to bring a few pop-ups to provide shade. Everyone should plan to bring their own seating and small tables for displaying fight equipment and armor and A&S activities (along with their own snacks, drinks, and whatever else might be needed to be comfortable). The event is free to attend and there’s plenty of free parking.

Voting Pursuant to our Bylaws, all members of the Shire Populace (anyone able to demonstrate reasonable levels of participation in diverse activities within the Shire of Caer Adamant) are eligible to vote in officer elections. One vote per person will be accepted either in person or via the online ballot. When voting via the online ballot, your email address will be recorded as part of your response.

SPECIAL ELECTION – SENESCHAL During our August, 2022 business meeting, Lady Aoife announced her intent to step down from the role as Seneschal prior to the official end of her current term.
–A call for candidates was published and Baroness Laurena Mouchot has stepped forward as candidate to serve as Seneschal for the remainder of the term which runs through mid-February, 2024.
–Now, the Shire will hold a Special Election for the position of Seneschal only during this business meeting. While officer elections generally occur during business meetings via closed ballot, due to current circumstances, an electronic voting mechanism has been created on our Facebook Group (a brief resume of the candidate is included).
—Paper ballots will be available at the meeting on Sunday if you would prefer to vote by closed ballot.

CALL FOR CANDIDATES for OFFICE OF SENESCHAL Lady Aoife has announced she is stepping down from the position of Seneschal and as such we are seeking candidates for the position which will become vacant prior to the end of the current term. We are now accepting letters of intent from anyone interested in running for the position.
If interested, please send a letter with your mundane name, SCA member #, SCA name (if applicable), and a brief statement of why you would like to serve as Seneschal to Seneschal@caer-adamant.eastkingdom.org. Applicants must be 18 years old or older, a paid member of the SCA, and live within the borders of Caer Adamant (Delaware).

As Baroness Mari has recently stepped forward with an interest in serving as A&S Minister for Shire, Lady Nancy will be resigning from the office and we will hold a Special Election for the position.
We are now accepting Letters of Intent for the office of A&S Minister with the intent of calling a vote at our July, 2022 Shire Business Meeting. If interested in running for this position, please notify our Seneschal by July 1 of your intention so it can be announced.
